21.36 is a random configuration of thirty six 21 pendants hung from a round canopy. The drop lengths of the pendants are randomized between a client specified range of heights to variously cluster and scatter. The result is an ambient chandelier or field of light.
Inspired by the sporadic, perhaps discordant arrangement of barnacles on a rock surface, the 21 is fabricated from thin sheets of porcelain wrapped around frosted borosilicate glass trumpet-shaped diffusers. Each diffuser houses a low voltage (12V, 20W xenon) lamp. A strong contrast is established between the organically distributed soft light passing through the translucent white porcelain skin and the sharp, crisp light passing through the borosilicate glass diffuser.
- Raw porcelain glazed on one side, blown borosilicate glass, braided metal coaxial cable, silicon gaskets, electrical components and a white powder coated steel canopy
- Shade Width: 13.7 inch
- Canopy Diameter: 29.7 inch x Height: 2 inch
- Adjustable Length: Standard 10 feet, Custom 100 feet
- Lamping: 20w xenon or 1.5w LED (LED not dimmable)
- As an alternative to a built-in transformer, Bocci recommends mounting transformers remotely in an easily accessible and hidden location for ease of long-term maintenance
