  • New from Alessi - timeless Italian design

Alessi, the Italian design company, has been creating amazing products for your home since 1921. Collaborating with starchitects such as Zaha Hadid and internationally recognized designers such as Michael Graves, Philippe Starck and Richard Sapper Alessi has produced some of the absolute best iconic designs in the world. And they are always producing new products to enhance your life. Here are some recent releases.

Alessi Forma Cheese Grater The Alessi Forma Cheese Grater was designed by the Pritzker prize-winning architect, Zaha Hadid. It is the perfect expression of her ability to absorb facets of the visual arts and convert them into objects with fluid and dynamic shapes. It is like a small, sculptural tabletop piece of architecture. The Forma Cheese Grater was designed to mold to the shape of your palm, making it easy and pleasant to hold.

The Alessi Barkvase Flower Vase designed by Michael Boucquillon and Donia Maaoui inspiered by the trees that surround their house in Lucca. The flower vase is produced at the factory in Crusinallo, Omegna, using a cutting and laser perforating process on the steel sheet, which is subsequently shaped and welded. The design of “Barkvase”, as its name suggests, is inspired by tree bark and its perforated pattern recalls knots in the wood grain. The new Giro flatware collection by designer Ben van Berkel riffs off the very successful Alessi Girotondo Collection by the design team King-Kong.

The Alessi Girotondo Fruit bowl The cartoon men created by the King-Kong team are a symbol and icon of mirror polished design based on the use of "affective codes", so much so that they are one of its most oft-cited examples. The "standing men" have appeared on objects from the farthest corners of Alessi tradition, like trays and baskets, and then they multiplied, invaded and conquered other groups of objects - and not just in the kitchen and at the table. The Alessi Raggiante Wall Clock designed by Michele de Lucchi introduces his wall clock, inspired by the sun that illuminates and paces the day. The designer favours natural materials which transform, improve even, over time: for this object, he chose bamboo, giving rise to an industrial product that retains the characteristic features of an item that is a cross between art and handicraft.
