Launched in 1983 by American industrial designer Robert King, Humanscale has always been about comfort, ergonomics, and function. Humanscale’s most celebrated design was the Freedom Chair, designed by Niels Diffrient in 1999. Its simplicity and innovative weight-sensitive recline mechanism were a breakthrough in ergonomic chair design, winning several prestigious international awards.
