The Raimond Dome is made of the same mathematical ingredients as its spherical family members. Also punctuated by tiny LED lights but amplified with a powerful light source in its centre. Looking at the Raimond Dome feels like staring into the soft glow of a starry night, making it the perfect light for dining under the stars. Designer Raimond Puts passed away before he could see the final design. Together with Raimond’s wife, artist & designer Tis Ernst, Moooi completed the Raimond Dome.

From a very early age, Raimond Puts began playing around with his Meccano toy box, which sparked his interest in engineering and machinery. He pursued his dreams in this field and was trained in the craft of metalwork, and owing to this, a new world opened up for him.
About thirty years ago he began building models from cheap materials like strip–iron, mosquito nets & paper. He became attracted to the challenges of making geometric shapes & models. Over the years he has experimented with all sorts of shapes & materials. He searches for solutions to the practical problems he encounters with an angel-like patience & determination. Over the years his constructions have become more refined and by making use of the LED-technique, Raimond has found an extremely productive combination. In his work he searched for the ideal integration of beauty & functionality. In his designs he always searched for the essence & creates from minimal means, maximum results.
He was not only interested in the exterior results. His objects stand as models for a world in which everything is connected to everything else. Everything fits perfectly. This conceptual simplicity inspired him to continue searching for newer constructions. In them, he found peace & continous surprises.
In 2010 Raimond Puts won the best Woonproduct of 2010 Award (Sanoma Woon Awards) with the Raimond light.
Named after “mooi,” the Dutch word for beautiful–the third “o” signifies extra value in beauty and uniqueness. This item qualifies for free door-to-door delivery within Canada, with a few exceptions:

- Small items will be delivered by FedEx or other courier service in your area.
