Florence Knoll (1917-2019) studied under Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer, and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe before joining Hans Knoll and building the company in the 1940s. As director of the Knoll Planning Unit, she created the modern corporate interior for postwar America, working for IBM, General Motors, and CBS. She described her own furniture designs as the "meat and potatoes" of the Knoll catalog, the architectural filler a room needed alongside the signature pieces of Bertoia, Mies, and Saarinen. Many of those designs are now as recognised as any piece in the range.

The credenza series, designed in the 1950s, uses a steel frame with wood veneer case panels available in two-position and four-position widths. Configurations combine box drawers, file drawers, and storage cabinets. All credenzas sit on a chrome steel base with adjustable levelling glides. The AV Depth Credenza adds case depth for equipment storage behind closed doors. The Anchor Credenza is a lower-profile option in a 48-inch width. Wood veneer, lacquer, and laminate finishes are available.

The proportions and hardware remain consistent with the originals Florence Knoll developed over sixty years ago. The credenzas are designed to pair with the Florence Knoll executive desk series as a complete workspace system and continue to be produced to the same specifications today.

Florence Knoll credenzas are available in Canada at GRShop. Lead times vary by configuration; contact us for details.
