Established & Sons
Established & Sons has operated out of London since 2005 as something closer to a publishing house than a furniture manufacturer. The model is to commission an exceptional designer and give them room to make the piece they could not make anywhere else. Zaha Hadid's Aqua Table, Amanda Levete's Drift, Jasper Morrison's Crate Series and the improbably thin Surface Table by Terence Woodgate and John Barnard all came out of that approach.
The roster reads as a survey of twenty-first-century design: Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Barber Osgerby, Konstantin Grcic, Sebastian Wrong, Raw Edges, Sabine Marcelis, Nao Tamura, Philippe Malouin, Formafantasma. Execution matches the ambition, from hand-blown Venini glass in the Filigrana lights to the carbon fibre engineering behind the Surface Table. Pieces from the collection are held in museum and institutional collections internationally.
