Magis
Magis gives you more choices—for indoors and out, for the lounge, the café, the patio, the lobby and the classroom. By combining craft with industrial process Magis products deliver beyond expectations. It makes sense since Magis means "more than" in Latin. While delivering more, Magis uses less—material and energy—a commitment Magis shares with Herman Miller.
Magis works with top designers from around the world, such as Hong Kong based Michael Young who, in 2001, designed a fun and very functional doghouse.
Designed by the Milan firm Design Group Italia, the Magis Lyra Stool owes a lot to the way Charles Eames used bent wood. You can see the influence in the graceful molding of the stool’s beech plywood seat. Available in three height options.
The Magis Raviolo Chair, designed by Ron Arad, 2011, is a fun outdoor chair available in eight brilliant colours.
Mattiazzi
Among contemporary furniture manufacturers, Mattiazzi, the family owned producer of wooden furniture in Udine, Italy, is uncommon. While many producers rely on third party factories and work in diverse materials, Mattiazzi operates with their own machines and has developed a healthy obsession for woodworking. Founded in 1978, Mattiazzi has steadily cultivated its local manufacturing culture.
Designed by Konstantin Grcic, the low slung Medici Chair is a love song to material - wood. Says Grcic, "I like the idea of wood cut into planks, which is how it is processed in the first place: the tree sliced into planks." Available in four finish options.
With a name inspired by a café conversation between a man and woman, the She Said Chair is a softer version of its counterpart, the He Said Chair. The stackable She Said Chair has graceful, solid wood carpentry that sits beautifully in a dining room, guest room, or home office. It’s available in black anilin beech, white lacquered beech and natural ash.
Geiger
In 1964 John Geiger was building furniture by hand—while building a culture of quality that flourishes today. His love of and respect for the materials he worked with set new international standards in wood furniture manufacturing. Today, Geiger’s excellent reputation for design, engineering and craftsmanship continues to enhance business interiors with an elegant and intelligent portfolio of great design for the modern office.
Isay Weinfeld's Domino Storage Credenza and Sideboard is comprised of an array of rectangular modules that are smartly edited to reflect the basic storage needs of today. Its spare, rectilinear form sets the stage for the exuberance of its quarter-turned wood fronts. Finished on all sides, the piece can serve anywhere in a room, and in settings formal or casual. The Geiger Domino Storage Credenza and Sideboard comes in a huge variety of options and finishes.
The I Beam Coffee Table’s versatile design pays tribute to modern architecture and industrial precision. The black painted cast aluminum base with a top of high-quality glass or stone makes for a contemporary coffee table with distinctive character, style—and a hint of wit. Available in glass or marble.
