Featured Brand: Tom Dixon, part 1

Tom Dixon is a British manufacturing and design house of contemporary lighting, furniture and eclectic accessories. Some highly recognizable pieces along with some other unique/obscure designs comprise a collection that is revamped annually with new product launches. Innovation and history are both on the forefront of this company's mission and vision to revive the British furniture industry.

Over the last 11 years since Tom Dixon's inception, they have made design news across channels including some high profile public installations such as "The Great Chair Grab" of 2006. For the London Design Festival, Dixon filled Trafalgar Square with chairs moulded from EPS polystyrene as a demonstration of the material's potential. The best part? the public was invited to take the chairs home, for free!

The Great Chair Grab was followed up the next year at the 2007 Design Festival with The Great Light Giveaway - 500 energy saving Blow Pendant Lights were installed at the square, powered by a renewable energy source and again, given away to the public on a first come, first served basis.
