Alessi 5180S30 Nuovo Milano Cutlery Set
The Nuovo Milano service was designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1987 by revisiting a traditional cutlery model in a contemporary fashion. The objects of this series are characterised by soft and rounded shapes which are extremely pleasing to the touch like those of a stone smoothened by the sea. Nuovo Milano is one of the most complete services in the Alessi catalog, offering a selection of 26 different types of cutleries. It is made of stainless steel and created from Sottsass's desire to design all the objects necessary for a "Beautiful Table"; this collection of cutleries is a typical contemporary design, approved by XV Premio Compasso d'Oro.

Ettore Sottsass
1917-2007
Ettore Sottsass was a grandee of late 20th century Italian design. Best known as the founder of the early 1980s Memphis collective, he also designed iconic electronic products for Olivetti, as well as beautiful glass and ceramics. Revered in Italy as a doyen of late 20th century design, Ettore Sottsass is also cited as a role model by young foreign designers, such as Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, for the breadth - as well as the quality - of his work.

Alessi is known for producing many of the most iconic home accessories and homeware in the world. Founded in 1921, each product elevates the expression and function of household items, from tableware and flatware, kitchen and bathroom accessories to tea kettles and coffee makers, and more.
In collaboration with internationally recognized designers such as Michael Graves, Philippe Starck, and Richard Sapper, Alessi embodies Alberto Alessi’s vision that "A true design work must move people, convey emotions, bring back memories, surprise, and go against common thinking."
