Alessi ABI04 Pianissimo Basket
The “Pianissimo” basket joins the two “Resonance” (the 2006 centrepiece and the 2008 fruit holder) and the “Harmonic” basket (2008) created by the same Australian designer. As in all her projects, Abi uses geometric artistic drawings as a basis to create three-dimensional sculptured objects, subjecting the sheet steel to successive cutting, folding and curving operations.

Abi Alice
Her artistic practice extends across a range of creative disciplines, from painting, photography and sculpture to sound and design. Mathematics, geometry, colour and form are frequently explored in her work. Alice has undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in fine art. In many instances her abstract paintings are the foundation for her product design. Alice's work is represented in public and private collections around the world, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
Alessi is known for producing many of the most iconic home accessories and homeware in the world. Founded in 1921, each product elevates the expression and function of household items, from tableware and flatware, kitchen and bathroom accessories to tea kettles and coffee makers, and more.
In collaboration with internationally recognized designers such as Michael Graves, Philippe Starck, and Richard Sapper, Alessi embodies Alberto Alessi’s vision that "A true design work must move people, convey emotions, bring back memories, surprise, and go against common thinking."
This item qualifies for free door-to-door delivery within Canada, with a few exceptions:
- Orders $180 or less are charged a $35 small order fee at checkout.
- Additional charges apply for Remote Delivery Areas including the Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and other remote locations outside of major city centres.
- Small items will be delivered by FedEx or other courier service in your area.
- Large items will be delivered by freight service. This is standard curbside delivery; meaning the driver will not haul up an incline or up stairs, and it will be your responsibility to bring the item inside, complete any assembly, and remove packaging debris.
