Architectmade Oscar/Bobby/Rufus Dog
His love for dogs prompted a young Hans Bolling to design Oscar in 1953, followed by his brothers Bobby and Rufus with the same technical details. They represent a timeless depiction of the four-legged man’s best friend.
Designed with Hans Bolling’s characteristic humor, Oscar, Bobby and Rufus can imitate everything a dog can do. From sitting to begging to playing to crawling, their personality shines through, making them a joyful companion for every day (without having to take them out for a walk!).
Hand made with the precision, Oscar and Rufus are from beech wood, while Bobby is from walnut wood.

Hans Bolling
Bølling’s work is known for its play, humor and wit. A passionate spirit whose practice and products are inspired by creative diversity, Bølling’s interest in architecture drew him back to school for a secondary degree after training as an advertising designer, growing his practice beyond objects to include villas, living complexes and town halls. Early in his career he began to craft small figures from botanicals as gifts for family and friends. The precision and personality in his objects paved the way for success as he quickly began to sell the wooden figures to stores. Bølling won an award for the designs and invested the winnings into his own carpentry machine. The access to the means of production kick-started the production of Bølling’s now-famous Duck and Ducklings in the 1950’s.
Years later, Hans still stops by the Architectmade office, checking in on his beloved products, his lively, cheerful spirit inspiring more ideas than we know what to do with!

This item qualifies for free door-to-door delivery within Canada, with a few exceptions:
- Orders $180 or less are charged a $35 small order fee at checkout.
- Additional charges apply for Remote Delivery Areas including the Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and other remote locations outside of major city centres.
- Small items will be delivered by FedEx or other courier service in your area.
- Large items will be delivered by freight service. This is standard curbside delivery; meaning the driver will not haul up an incline or up stairs, and it will be your responsibility to bring the item inside, complete any assembly, and remove packaging debris.
