Flos Black Flag Pro Wall Lamp
Black Flag is an extendable wall light that offers flexibility of illumination thanks to the expanding aluminum arm reaching up to 3.5 meters from a wall-mounted frame of the same material. Wall lamp and sculptural center piece, Black Flag embodies Grcic’s industrial design expertise and demonstrates the experimental opportunities of his approach mixed with Flos’ technical expertise. The luminaire provides direct and indirect lighting. Greater Up or Down intensity can be controlled through the dedicated touch buttons featured in the stem. The lamp is dimmable via wireless (by Casambi).

Konstantin Grcic
Germany, 1965
Konstantin Grcic was born in Munich in 1965. He was trained as a cabinetmaker at The John Makepeace School in Dorset, England and then he went on to study industrial design at the RCA in London. In 1991 he founded his design firm, Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design, in Munich. KGID is active in several areas of design, from furniture to architecture projects.
Konstantin Grcic defines function in human terms, combining formal strictness with considerable mental acuity and humour. Each of his products is characterized by a careful research into the history of design and architecture and his passion for technology and materials. Known for pared-down pieces, Grcic is often called a minimalist but the designer himself prefers to speak of simplicity.
Grcic has designed products for Eemco, Flos, Magis, Mattiazzi and Vitra. His products have won important prizes and are represented in major design collections around the world.
Founded in Merano in 1962, Flos is internationally recognized as a high-end modern designer lighting and lighting systems manufacturer for private residential and commercial sectors. They strive to amplify and increase creative lighting solutions. Later collaborations include Achille Castiglioni in the 80s, which established FLO within the industry with the Brera Series.
Flos creations have won numerous awards, including the Compasso d'Oro Industrial Design Award five times. Many now feature in permanent collections of major art and design museums worldwide. Commissions include Venice's Palazzo Grassi and the City of Amsterdam archives. With a versatile catalog, long-standing reputation, and rich design history, Flos products are an excellent addition to any space.
