Description
Aurelia is a collection of suspension lamps designed by Patrick Jouin. The handblown glass diffuser surrounds the metal structure that houses two direct and indirect LED light sources. Independently dimmable, the two light sources offer the possibility of single or simultaneous switching, creating direct soft light and surprising and unexpected indirect reflections. Aurelia is available in two different shapes and sizes (Aurelia S 45 and Aurelia Bold S 22) and six combinations of glass colors (transparent or smoke gray) and metal structure (hand-finished vintage brass or matt gunmetal, and glossy warm white) with matching canopy. The LED light source can be easily replaced by the user. A smart disassembly system allows for an easy maintenance and cleaning of the glass diffuser.

Designer
Patrick Jouin
France, 1967
Son of a craftsman and mechanical engineer, Patrick Jouin was born in 1967. He received a design degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle in Paris in 1992. In 1998 Patrick Jouin established his own firm and began projects in furniture design, interior design, industrial design and exhibition scenography. He began collaborating with major brands such as Renault, Nutella, Ligne Roset, Fermob, Cassina, Alessi and Kartell.
His design work places space and light at its center, blending tradition, modernity and sophisticated technology. In 2010, the Centre Pompidou mounted an exhibition of his work, Patrick Jouin - La substance design. The following year, the designer was awarded the Compasso d'Oro.
Brand
Dare. The story Leucos tells to contemporary times is a long, vital and interesting one. A story which began in the sixties calling into question the historical relation between shape and material: it was a revolution. The protagonist was glass, taken away for the first time from the traditional logics of glass art and reinterpreted in an absolutely new way. Taking into consideration the tradition, of course, but also looking at innovative materials and technologies, and reconsidering serial production as an added value to design: the repetition became a multiplication of beauty, and the accessibility an opportunity to offer resources to the creative process.

- Orders $180 or less are charged a $35 small order fee at checkout.
