Nanimarquina Tres Rug
The Tres Collection reflects Nanimarquina’s passion for craftsmanship, specifically paying tribute to the ancient craft of weaving. With this collection, the desire is to reclaim the basics, to appreciate the beauty in details and respect tradition.
Tres is a traditional Indian flat-weave Dhurrie rug. Its unique quality lies in the production of three independent parts in which different fibres predominate. The proportion and combination of wool, felt, and cotton generate changes in tone and irregularities in the weave, bringing the pattern to life. The collection is an exercise in honesty, showcasing the weaving structure almost in a pedagogically style, without fear of revealing the warp. The fringes also help to understand the construction process thus enhancing the differentiation between the three pieces that finally blend together invisibly.
Tres captives with an elemental and timeless design.

Nani Marquina
Spain, 1952
Elena Marquina, known as Nani Marquina, was born in Barcelona in 1952. After studying industrial design at the Massana School in Barcelcona, she started working with the architects Sellés-Marquina in 1973. In 1984 she made her first carpets and decided to devote herself to carpet design and set up her company, Nanimarquina, two years later. By 1988 some of her carpet creations were being exported to Germany and Japan. A year later one of her collections was selected for the shop at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
A superb colorist Marquina finds inspiration not only in nature but also in the challenge of creating something that hasn’t been done before. The designer is also a firm believer that a rug must surprise and captivate but never be too aggressive. The result is her striking depth in materials, ranging from low pile to long strands of felted wool to die-cut rose petals.
Nani Marquina is known internationally for her textiles and rugs, which have been exhibited in New York, Paris, Milan, Berlin, Osaka and Tokyo.
