&Tradition Blown SW5 Ceiling Lamp
While experimenting with the reflections and refraction of light, designer Samuel Wilkinson discovered a beautiful quilted effect when the light source was surrounded by patterned glass. This led to his design of the Blown series.

Samuel Wilkinson
England, 1977
Samuel Wilkinson graduated in furniture and related product design at Ravensboure College of Art & Design in 2002. Samuel Wilkinson set up his industrial design studio in 2008. In that year he completed his largest work designing L’arbre de Flonville in Lausanne, Switzerland. The work consists of a contemporary town square featuring a sculptural 16m metal tree surrounded by root benches that stitch through a red rubber floor. In 2011 Samuel’s design of the Plumen 001 light bulb and the hand blown glass lamps Vessel Series won international acclaim.
Samuel Wilkinson’s commitment and enthusiasm to designing interesting objects and spaces is apparent in his work, always looking to add a fresh dynamic approach in either form or function. His deep understanding of materials and manufacturing helps the studio push the boundaries in achieving a high level of detail and craftsmanship in their output.
