Description
The Bascule Lounge Chair pairs the relaxed look of a loosely fitted fabric cover with a Vitra seat mechanism that adjusts automatically to the sitter's weight. Bascule is French for seesaw: the concealed mechanism responds to every shift in weight and follows the body from an upright angle to a deeply reclined, almost horizontal position, with no levers or fixed settings.
Studio Πborrowed tailoring techniques from fashion for the generously cut cover, which drapes over the structure like a jacket. The cover is removable for cleaning or replacement, and every part of the chair can be repaired or exchanged.
The Highback version has an integrated neck cushion that adjusts in height by 6 cm (2.5 inch). It comes with a four-star aluminum swivel base in two seat heights or with a solid oak base.
